It was such a pleasure photographing Mandy and Darren’s Wedding this past weekend! This was my first time photographing a Sikh wedding and it was such a beautiful experience! The Sikh Wedding ceremony is called “Anand Karaj” which means “Blissful Union”. It is the joining of two souls where they commit to each other as equals and to their goal of becoming closer with God. The ceremony consisted of different prayers and vows, for each vow (there are 4) the couple must circle around the scriptures counterclockwise to signify their agreement and bow down their heads. After the ceremony we went to James Garden for Mandy and Darren’s portraits and we found a small patch of lavender flowers which made for such gorgeous photos! It also didn’t hurt that these two are so adorable! Check out my favourites below!
