Over the last few years I’d heard of Sayeda Khadija Centre and seen photos of it on Instagram, but I never had the chance to photograph a nikkah there. When Ruba reached out to book me for her and Ovais’s nikkah and told me which mosque she was holding it at, I was so excited!! When I walked into the mosque my jaw dropped at how stunning it was! All the walls were filled with the most beautiful tiling, I’d never seen anything like it in Canada!

I just loved getting to meet Ruba and Ovais’s sweet family and friends; you could really tell through all of the emotion how overjoyed they were at the marriage of these two. Ruba and Ovais’s nikkah took place after Asr and we had a very short window (I mean something like 2 minutes to sunset) to get some outdoor photos of them. I’m so glad I was able to find a beautiful tree with fall colours just outside the mosque to get a few photos of the just nikkah’d couple, and then we finished off with a few portraits inside Sayeda Khadija Centre Masjid.
