Nikhat and Akib had originally planned their wedding for July 2020. Since then they’ve had to reschedule their wedding events three times due to the pandemic restrictions, and they finally were able to hold their events in June 2022. All the planning and rescheduling was worth it because their wedding weekend was an absolute dream!! After their crazy fun holud event, I was so excited for their Scarborough Convention Bengali Wedding Reception.
We photographed their portraits at Aga Khan Museum and I can’t get over how beautiful Nikhat and Akib looked. Their white and gold outfits with a pop of red went together so well, and they looked so stunning in front of the clean white architecture at Aga Khan. Their reception kicked off with the ‘Gate Dhora’ where Nikhat’s brother and cousins blocked Akib from entering the wedding hall until he paid them all a fee. 😛 After he was finally allowed in, Akib and Nikhat entered with a beautiful sparkler entrance, followed by speeches, their first dance and cake cutting. Then there was some more bargaining for Akib when Nikhat’s cousins stole his shoes and he had to pay to get them back! The night ended off with dance performances, a lit dance floor, and a sparkler exit. Enjoy my favourites from their Reception below!! Nikhat and Akib, it’s been so wonderful working with you over the last few years- thank you so much for giving me the honour of being a part of your wedding!!
